01 Day 1
Shanghai
Arrival and a short Bund walk
Settle in after arrival, then take a short evening walk along the Bund. Look across to Pudong’s skyline and enjoy dinner, without combining observation decks and a river cruise on the first night.
02 Day 2
Shanghai
Explore one Shanghai neighbourhood
Choose one leafy neighbourhood or a museum that interests you, alternating walks with café breaks. Keep the afternoon flexible for architecture, design or everyday city life rather than crossing Shanghai repeatedly.
03 Day 3
Suzhou
Take the train to Suzhou and its canals
Take the confirmed train to Suzhou and check in. Explore the canals around Pingjiang Road at an easy pace, pausing for tea and saving the reserved garden visit for a full morning tomorrow.
04 Day 4
Suzhou
Spend time in one main garden
Choose one principal garden, such as the Humble Administrator’s Garden or Lingering Garden. Take time over framed views, pools and corridors, then return to the old town for rest and an optional short stroll.
05 Day 5
Hangzhou
Continue to Hangzhou and West Lake
Travel by rail to Hangzhou, allowing time to reach your hotel from the station. Later, walk one nearby stretch of West Lake, enjoying willows and distant hills before an easy dinner.
06 Day 6
Hangzhou
A tea-country morning and a free afternoon
Spend a half-day around Longjing’s tea slopes and village lanes, choosing a short walking route. Tea picking is seasonal; return for a restful afternoon and optional lakeside time if the weather suits.
07 Day 7
Hangzhou
A last lakeside morning before departure
Enjoy breakfast or a short lakeside walk before departing from Hangzhou. If you must return to Shanghai, allow separate time for the intercity train and airport transfer, without adding another attraction.
